Trade Secret
 
  • Represented a Korean conglomerate throughout a billion-dollar trade secret litigation involving civil claims with over 100 trade secrets in the Northern District of Virginia and the Eastern District of New York, and parallel criminal charges instigated by the US Department of Justice and anti-trust claims filed before the Korean Fair Trade Commission; all matters were globally resolved following an eight-week jury trial and successful appeal.
  • Represented a large international fabricator in an internal investigation into the misappropriation of trade secrets allegation instigated by the US Department of Justice (trade secret; industrial silicone). 
  • Represented a semiconductor manufacturer in a trade secret lawsuit in the Superior Court of California and the Northern District of California.

Patent Litigation
 
  • Represented a global e-commerce company in patent litigation in the US Supreme Court, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the Eastern District of Virginia, resulting in the Supreme Court’s landmark decision in the client’s favor that injunctions should not be presumed in patent cases. 
  • Represented a health care information technology company in patent litigation involving a patent related to medical claims auditing software in the District of Delaware, resulting in a favorable jury verdict of infringement. 
  • Represented the world’s second largest manufacturer of CDs and DVDs against the holder of standard essential patents in the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the District of Minnesota, and obtained a critical win on a dispositive issue on appeal.
