Ken Nam is a foreign attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in cross-border merger and acquisition transactions, joint ventures, project financing and inbound and outbound investment, with a focus on energy (including renewables), resources and infrastructure.

Mr. Nam has extensive experience advising both international and Korean corporate clients in the structuring, documentation, negotiation and implementation of complex cross-border transactions and projects across a number of jurisdictions.

Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Nam worked in the Seoul and Sydney offices of Herbert Smith Freehills for 17 years. He has also completed secondments in the in-house legal teams of two leading Australian energy companies.

Mr. Nam has been recognized by international legal directories such as Chambers Asia Pacific and Legal 500.

Mr. Nam received an LL.B. from the University of Sydney in 2006. He is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia.

  •   Advised an European electric utility company on its potential acquisition of eight onshore wind power projects in Korea.
  •   Advised a Korean contractor on its proposed tender for the supply and long-term service and maintenance of wind turbine generators to an offshore wind project in Japan.
  •   Advised a Korean developer for an offshore wind project in Korea in connection with its proposed tender for the procurement of wind turbine generators.
  •   Advised various foreign investors on the acquisition, joint venturing, and funding for renewables projects in Korea (solar and wind).
  •   Advised an international infrastructure investor on its investment into a greenfield logistics warehouse development project in outer Seoul by way of senior debt and equity.
