Hyungkeun Lee is a senior member of Kim & Chang’s international arbitration and cross-border litigation practice who specializes in representing clients in a broad range of international disputes. Mr. Lee also advises clients on issues relating to outbound investment and economic sanctions.

Throughout his career, Mr. Lee has been actively involved in many high-profile disputes including two investment treaty arbitration cases brought against the Republic of Korea, and commercial arbitrations and litigations covering finance, energy, joint ventures, new technology, and intellectual property licensing.

Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Lee was a partner at a major Korean law firm practicing primarily in the areas of international arbitration, cross-border litigation and international trade. He also worked at the Korean Ministry of Justice where he focused on matters relating to trade agreement, investment treaty, private international law and legal services market.

Mr. Lee is regularly invited to speak at conferences hosted by various international organizations and arbitral institutions, including UNCITRAL, ADB, IBA, IPBA, SIAC, HKIAC, KCAB and SIDRC, and recognized by legal publications, such as Chambers, Who’s Who Legal and Expert Guides, as one of the leading arbitration practitioners of his generation in Korea.

Mr. Lee received an LL.M. from Stanford Law School in 2014, and his LL.B. (magna cum laude) from Seoul National University College of Law in 2000. He is licensed to practice in Korea and New York.

Hyungkeun Lee is a senior member of Kim & Chang’s international arbitration and cross-border litigation practice who specializes in representing clients in a broad range of international disputes. Mr. Lee also advises clients on issues relating to outbound investment and economic sanctions.
