Hye Kwang Lee is an attorney in the firm’s Litigation, Corporate Governance, Banking, Antitrust & Competition, Shipping, Intellectual Property, and Corporate Investigations & White Collar Defense Practices.

Before joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Lee had served in the judiciary for 21 years, first as a judge in district courts, and later as a presiding judge both in district courts and high courts. He was also a professor at the Judicial Research and Training Center. During his tenure as a judge, he accumulated extensive experience in a wide range of civil, criminal, administrative and tax litigation.

After completing his LL.M. degree at the College of Law, Seoul National University, he attended LL.M. courses at the University of Cambridge under the sponsorship of the Korean Government to extend his research on various legal issues. Back home, he tried many serious criminal cases such as those involving a major Korean electronics company. Considering his varied judicial experience and legal research, Mr. Lee has an excellent qualification for successful practice in civil, administrative and criminal litigation at the firm. He is also fluent in both English and Japanese.

As a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Lee is an expert in white collar crime.
