Young Jay Ro is an attorney in the M&A, Private Equity and Acquisition Finance Practices at Kim & Chang. He also practices in the areas of corporate governance, capital market and foreign direct investment.
Since joining the firm in 1988, he has advised a wide range of clients in the areas of M&A, capital market and finance transactions (including corporate, acquisition and structured financing). He has extensively advised major private equity funds, financial institutions and multinational corporations on both financial and corporate matters. He also has broad experience in providing specialized tax planning advice and resolution of tax disputes.
He has been recognized as a leading individual in the Corporate/M&A by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific; No. 1 M&A Lawyer by the Korea Economic Daily; leading individual in Corporate/M&A by Chambers Global; and External Counsel of the Year by Asian-MENA Counsel.
Mr. Ro received his LL.M. from Yale Law School in 1993 and his LL.B. from Seoul National University College of Law in 1982. He attended the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 1984. He is admitted to the New York bar and the Korean bar.
