紹介

Won-Tak Choi is an attorney at Kim & Chang. He provides legal advisory services on corporate legal affairs such as investment in Korea by Chinese companies, investment in China by Korean companies, cross-border litigations and arbitrations, approval and enforcement of court judgments or arbitration awards in third countries received from the other country, negotiations with the government including ISD, extra-court negotiations between Chinese and Korean companies, and cross-border M&A.

As a Korean attorney, he was the first to obtain formal permission from the Chinese judiciary (corresponding to the Korean Ministry of Justice) to establish a Korean law firm (representative) in Shanghai, China, and served as a Chief Representative of the firm for ten years.

In addition, Mr. Choi completed his master’s and doctoral courses and worked as a Korean law professor at the East China University of Political Science and Law for five years, and also worked as an adjunct professor at the Shanghai Jiaotong University Law School for three years.

Mr. Choi also taught Chinese Law as an adjunct professor at Sungkyunkwan University’s Graduate School of China for a semester.

Since 2012, after joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Choi has been managing China-related matters as a Co-Head.
