Luke Shin is a senior member of Kim & Chang. His primary areas of focus are crisis management and compliance matters, which include competition law cases, privacy and data security cases and white collar defense cases involving multinational corporations.
As a senior member of Kim & Chang, Mr. Shin has advised multinational corporations in some of the most high-profile cases over the past decades, including many cases that presented ground-breaking issues under Korean law.
As a member of the firm’s Antitrust & Competition Practice, Mr. Shin has extensive experience advising multinational clients on all aspects of competition law issues, including KFTC investigations involving allegations of cartel conduct, abuse of dominance and unfair trade practice.
As a member of the firm’s Privacy & Data Security Practice, Mr. Shin regularly advises clients on all aspects of privacy and data protection matters, including managing data breach incidents and ensuring compliance with personal information protection laws and related regulatory, criminal and civil proceedings arising out of data breach cases.
Mr. Shin is a regular contributor to various international professional journals as well as a speaker at international and domestic conferences covering the areas of his expertise. Mr. Shin was selected to ALB Hot 100 (Pre-Eminent Asia-Pacific Lawyers) and recognized as a “Leading Individual” by the Chambers Asia-Pacific 2011 Guide and as one of the “External Counsel of the Year” by Asian-MENA Counsel in 2009 and again in 2012 by the in-house community of lawyers.
