In Seon Choi is a senior attorney and a core member of Kim & Chang’s Antitrust & Competition and TMT Practices.
Throughout her career, Ms. Choi has been actively involved in a number of high-profile cases in Korea or relating to Korean businesses, including those in the ICT, health, e-commerce, and retail sectors. She has extensive experience in representing multinational and domestic companies in various antitrust issues, such as the abuse of market dominant position, mergers, cartels, unfair trade practices, and unfair exercise of intellectual property rights. In particular, she has accumulated vast experience in relation to antitrust/competition issues and handled KFTC investigations and hearings in cutting-edge industries, including the online platform industry and the pharmaceutical and medical devices area.
Ms. Choi has contributed articles to multiple leading legal publications, including Global Competition Review (GCR) Know-How - IP & Antitrust (Law Business Research), the Korea chapter of Getting the Deal Through - Dominance 2018 (Law Business Research), and the Korea chapter of The Private Competition Enforcement Review (Law Business Research). Additionally, she has contributed articles to the Journal of Competition, the LAWnB-ONJU and the Legal Times. She has also given lectures on antitrust issues to various academic institutions and organizations both in and outside of Korea.
Ms. Choi received an LL.M. from University College London in 2014, and she was a visiting attorney in the Brussels office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from October 2014 to February 2015.
She was recognized as a “Thought Leader” in Lexology Index: Thought Leaders - Competition 2023-2025, and as a “Leading Lawyer” from 2020 to 2024 in Lexology Index: Competition. Moreover, she was recognized as a “Rising Star” in the IFLR Rising Stars Awards Asia-Pacific 2022 in the areas of “Jurisdictions Awards: South Korea” and “Practice Area Awards: Antitrust & Competition”, and also recognized as a “Rising Star” by the Euromoney Expert Guides from 2018 to 2022. In addition, in 2021 and 2023, Ms. Choi was selected as one of the “Leading Lawyers” and “Rising stars” in the area of Antitrust & Competition by the Legal Times, a key legal publication in Korea.
