Yan Ni Qiu is a foreign attorney at Kim & Chang. She practices primarily in China, mergers and acquisitions, foreign direct investment, corporate governance, restructuring, labor & employment and general tax consulting.
Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Ms. Qiu was a Senior Manager of Samil PricewaterhouseCoopers in Korea. As a Chinese professional, Ms. Qiu has extensive experience in advising Korean companies on their investments in China. These include direct investment in China, joint ventures between Chinese companies and Korean companies, mergers and acquisitions of Chinese companies, real estate investments in China, restructuring consulting related to Chinese businesses and general China tax service.
After joining Kim & Chang in 2015, based on her years of experience in the field of corporate law, Ms. Qiu advises Korean companies on their mergers and acquisitions of Chinese companies and corporate governance and restructuring related to their Chinese businesses. She also counsels Chinese companies on their investment in Korea and mergers and acquisitions of Korean companies. She has gained extensive experience on the compliance review, labor advice and tax consulting for Korean subsidiaries of Chinese companies. Additionally, she has experience in advising Chinese companies on criminal, civil, cartel and other administrative investigations in Korea.
Ms. Qiu received an LL.M. from Korea University in 2012, and her LL.B. form the Shanghai Fudan University in 1996. She passed the National Lawyer Qualification Test of China in 1999. She is admitted to the China bar.
