Jong Chul Jung is a senior Kim & Chang attorney, who focuses his practice on labor & employment and banking & finance.

Since joining Kim & Chang in 2001, Mr. Jung has advised both foreign and domestic clients on corporate (including shareholder-related issues) and HR-related matters, as well as handling litigations. In fact, he has been involved in various high-profile cases and transactions involving foreign investment and incorporations, M&A, corporate reorganizations and bankruptcies, international litigations, and arbitrations.

He is also known for his vast experience counseling clients on issues relating to the development and implementation of the HR/IR strategies in line with their business goals.

Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Jung served in the judiciary for two years as a Seoul Central District Court judge in the labor law division. During his tenure as a judge, he gained experience on a wide range of HR-related matters (including union-related) and civil litigations.

Mr. Jung is highly regarded as a labor and employment law expert, having spoken as a panelist at the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea’s “Value of HR: From Hiring to Retiring” since 2014 and a speaker at the Swiss-Korea Chamber of Commerce’s “Labor Unions in Korea” since 2014.

Mr. Jung earned his bachelor’s degree from Hanyang University, College of Law in 1992, and received his LL.M. from Duke University School of Law in 2006. He graduated from the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 1996.

He is admitted to both the New York bar and the Korean bar.
