Bio

Eugene Kim is a foreign attorney at Kim & Chang. As a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, Mr. Kim advises clients on a wide range of corporate matters, including cross-border transactions, overseas direct investments, and both inbound and outbound mergers & acquisitions.

Alongside his experience in corporate transactions, Mr. Kim also has significant experience in advising multinational clients in the technology and IT services sector, particularly on regulatory matters. Mr. Kim’s advisory work on such matters, in recent years, include privacy and data protection law compliance for multinational telecommunications and cloud computing service companies, e-commerce and online service regulatory licensing for multinational technology companies specializing in e-commerce and digital platform services, and information technology-related advising for new media and digital content service providers.

Before joining Kim & Chang in 2007, Mr. Kim was an associate in the Seattle office of K&L Gates.

Mr. Kim has earned the distinction of National Leader in the areas of Telecoms & Media and Data in South Korea from Who’s Who Legal for four consecutive years, from 2019 to 2022.

Mr. Kim obtained his law degrees (J.D. and LL.M.) from the University of Washington School of Law. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles and holds a master’s degree in public policy from Columbia University, where he was distinguished as a Columbia Public Affairs Fellow.
