Kim & Chang Professionals Participated in the 32nd IAKL Annual Conference

The 32nd International Association of Korean Lawyers (the “IAKL”) Annual Conference was held at Korea University from September 24 to 27, 2025, and five of our professionals participated as speakers in the following sessions, engaging in in-depth discussions on international legal issues. 

First, foreign attorney Sun Yul Lee Lee spoke in the “Market Trends in Cross-Border M&A Taking into Account FDI Regulations” session. Foreign attorney Sup-Joon Byun participated in the session titled “Comparative Analysis of Cross-Border Disputes and Access to Justice.” Also, foreign attorney Hyun Chung presented on “Challenges for Cross-Border Investigations.” Moreover, foreign attorney Junghoon Kenneth Oh discussed “Building Robust Patent Portfolios and Litigating Successfully Across the US, Germany, and China for Korean Manufacturers.” Finally, foreign attorney David M. Waters participated as a speaker in the “It’s Not You, It’s AI: Rethinking the In-house Legal-Law Firm Relationship in an AI Age” session.

Established in 1988, the IAKL aims to foster interaction and communication among attorneys interested in the Korean legal practice. It currently has approximately 3,500 members across 23 countries. This year’s annual conference was held under the theme “Returning to the Principles - Toward the Future.”
