Sangwoo Kim is an attorney at Kim & Chang, specializing in compliance, ESG, legal tech, Antitrust & Competition, and Corporate Investigations & White Collar Crime Defense Practices.

Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Kim was an Executive Vice President at Samsung Electronics and served as Corporate Compliance Officer, Head of Global Legal Affairs Team at HQ in Suwon, South Korea and Head of Public Affairs Team at Samsung's European Regional Headquarters located in Brussels.
Before his years at Samsung Electronics, Mr. Kim also served as a public prosecutor in 1992 and worked at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Busan District Prosecutors' Office and Ministry of Justice, among others. During his 13 years at the Prosecutors' Office, he was involved in various cases including IP infringement, antitrust and white collar crimes.

Mr. Kim received his LL.M. from Columbia Law School in 2004, and his LL.B. from Seoul National University College of Law in 1984. He completed his two-year training at the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 1987. Mr. Kim also studied at Stanford Law School as a visiting scholar in 1995.
He is admitted to the New York bar and the Korean bar.
