Jung Taek Park, an attorney at Kim & Chang, has provided legal advice in various fields since 1998, including HR and labor, M&A, anti-corruption and compliance management, foreign investment and overseas investment, privacy and AI. Mr. Park provides legal advice to a wide range of global companies in many western countries, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and France. He also advises companies in the Asia-Pacifc region (including China, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia), in the Middle East (including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman), as well as Latin America (including Panama, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Ecuador). Mr. Park has also worked at Schiedermair Rechtsanwaelte (Frankfurt, Germany).

Mr. Park has extensive experience in resolving various disputes. These include various litigations, criminal cases filed with the National Human Rights Commission of Korea (the “NHRC”), adjudication and mediation cases filed with labor relations commissions at various levels, as well as criminal cases of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (the “MOEL”) and each branch office, the police and the Prosecutors’ Office. In addition, Mr. Park provides advice on overall labor-management relations (such as collective bargaining), cooperative labor-management relations (such as LMCs), M&As of domestic and global companies, post-merger integration, and companies’ restructuring/rehabilitation. Based on his extensive experience and thorough fact-finding analysis, Mr. Park has developed diverse strategies and demonstrated effective bargaining skills to satisfy customers. Mr. Park also plays a leading role in the application of AI to the HR and labor sector.

Mr. Park has also provided advice to the MOEL to establish and develop key areas of the legislation and practice of Korean labor-related laws, including the Employee Retirement Benefit Security Act and labor-related laws.

Mr. Park was selected as a leading individual in the Employment sector by the Chambers Asia-Pacific guide for six consecutive years from 2014 to 2019, and was selected as a leading individual in the Corporate/M&A (Germany) field by the Chambers Global guide in 2013. Since 2019, he has been recognized as a leading lawyer by Lexology Index (formerly Who’s Who Legal) every year. In addition, he is actively contributing to legal publications such as the “Monthly Labor Law.”

Mr. Park graduated from Seoul National University College of Law in 1993 and completed his term at the Judicial Research and Training Institute in 1995 (24th term). In 2004, he earned a master’s degree (LL.M.) from Columbia Law School.
