Dae-Hyuk Choi is an attorney at Kim & Chang who specializes in the areas of Energy, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Foreign Direct Investment.
Throughout his career, Mr. Choi has been actively involved in many high-profile transactions of domestic and foreign energy companies, public power institutions, infrastructure companies and developers. In particular, he has extensive experience in new and renewable energy projects with foreign clients.
Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Choi was a partner at Shin & Kim LLC and was in charge of various energy-related matters both for domestic and foreign clients, including M&A transactions and regulatory issues related to various energy sources such as LNG, waste, coal and renewable energy.
He is currently a member of the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s Advisory Committee on Preliminary Feasibility Studies for Public Institutions and is involved in selecting projects to conduct preliminary feasibility studies under the Act on the Management of Public Institutions. Mr. Choi was appointed as a policy expert in the field of energy and infrastructure by the Korea Development Institute (KDI) and has been advising on policies to various domestic and overseas energy and other infrastructure projects. In addition, he has actively engaged in various writing activities such as contributing to the Korean section of the Chambers Alternative Energy & Power Guide and participating as a co-author of “International Construction and Energy Law.”
Mr. Choi received an LL.M. from Stanford Law School in 2018, his J.D. from Seoul National University and his B.A. in business administration from Seoul National University. He admitted to the Korean bar.
