Hi Sun Yoon is an attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in finance matters including acquisition financing, project financing, ship financing, banking and other financial institutions. He also practices in insolvency and restructuring, overseas investment, real estate, acquisition and capital markets.
Mr. Yoon has extensive experience representing major banking institutions, investment banks, private equity funds, export credit agencies and financial advisors. He has also advised credit card companies, leasing companies, shipping and shipbuilding industries and securities companies. Additionally, Mr. Yoon represents clients in national and cross-border transactions, particularly in the coordination of complex and multijurisdictional transactions.
Mr. Yoon publishes regularly in the Korea section of the Shipping Finance Review, and has also written about transaction issues involving the assignment of credit card receivables for the Journal of the Credit Card Academic Society. He has been recognized as a leader in banking and finance by Chambers Global, Chambers Asia-Pacific, and IFLR1000 in 2019. He has also been nominated as a leading practitioner by The International Who’s Who Legal in 2012.
Mr. Yoon received an LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1997, received an LL.M. from the Seoul National University Graduate School of Law in 1987. He graduated from the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 1989, and received an LL.B. from the Seoul National University College of Law in 1985. He is admitted to the New York bar and Korea bar.
