Jae Hyung Ban is an attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in the areas of antitrust and competition, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, foreign direct investment, and anti-corruption & corporate compliance. Mr. Ban also has extensive experience advising the firm’s clients in the automotive, IT, and aerospace & defense industries.
As a member of the firm’s Antitrust & Competition Practice, Mr. Ban has advised clients on competition law issues arising from daily operations to global merger filings in both inbound and outbound M&A transactions. He has also counseled foreign clients in major investigations by the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) involving competition law violations and complex competition law litigations.
In addition, as a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, Mr. Ban has advised both domestic and international clients in a wide range of cross-border transactions, including joint ventures, by strategic and financial investors, involving licensing agreements, corporate governance and competition law.
Mr. Ban received an LL.M. from Harvard Law School in 2013, and his LL.B. from the Seoul National University College of Law in 2001. He attended the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea from 2002 to 2004. He is admitted to the Korean bar and the New York bar.
