Bio

Chae-Ho Kim is an foreign attorney at Kim & Chang who provides legal advice on project finance transactions and businesses in the financing, bank, energy, construction, and international arbitration and litigation sectors. Mr. Kim’s clients include financial institutions controlled by national policies, foreign commercial financial institutions and construction-energy companies pursuing foreign investments. In particular, Mr. Kim has an abundance of experience in advising on financing transactions for foreign investment and development projects. 

Throughout his 21-year-long career at the Export-Import Bank of Korea as an in-house counsel prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Kim was in charge of negotiation and execution of agreements on major overseas project finance transactions. Especially throughout four years of his career as the head of International Contract Team of Compliance & Legal Department, Mr. Kim was in charge of all affairs of advisory services regarding the businesses of the Export-Import Bank of Korea, including financing for overseas projects, provision of financial support on foreign investment projects, and execution of international financial agreements. 

Mr. Kim obtained a degree of LL.D. with his doctoral dissertation titled “Legal Research on Restructuring of Overseas Project Finance Transactions,” and currently gives lectures at Yonsei University Graduate School of Legal Studies as an adjunct professor. Mr. Kim attended the International Project Finance Association (IPFA) Asia Conference and International Bar Association (IBA) Annual Conference held in Seoul as a panelist and has given lectures on overseas project finance at a number of institutions including Chung-Ang University Graduate School of Construction Engineering, Korea University, Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, International Contractors Association of Korea, Korean Commercial Arbitration Board, Korea International Cooperation Agency, Korea Railway Association, Korea Electric Power Corporation, and Samsung C&T Corporation. Mr. Kim, who is acknowledged as a specialist in overseas project finance transactions, co-authored Volume 1 and 2 of “Legal Research on International Construction-Energy Law” with leading domestic experts and is actively engaged in a variety of activities in the field.
