On November 4, 2021, Kim & Chang and the International Contractors Association of Korea (“ICAK”) hosted the fourth webinar of the Overseas Construction Law Plaza 2021 series, which is also sponsored by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (the “MOLIT”).

In this webinar, Seong-Ik Oh of MOLIT delivered welcoming remarks. Then Byung-Woo Im, Chaeho Kim, and Daewoong Lee of Kim & Chang and KooJung Yang of the Export-Import Bank of Korea presented on practical tips for Korean construction companies to win bidding processes on overseas construction projects.  In particular, Mr. Im introduced the legal aspects of bidding on overseas projects.  Mr. Yang discussed the improvements in K-banking that are necessary to increase the possibility of winning overseas projects, while Mr. Lee shared actual case examples of overseas projects in which a preferred bidder was deprived of its status.  Mr. Kim moderated the discussion/Q&A session on legal issues in the bidding process for overseas construction projects.
