David Joo is a foreign attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, Financial Regulation & Compliance, Capital Markets and Antitrust & Competition.

Mr. Joo has extensive experience in high-profile corporate transactions in Korea or relating to Korean business across a wide variety of industry sectors.

Mr. Joo also has advised clients on competition law issues including in connection with global merger filings to the Korea Fair Trade Commission (“KFTC”) as well as investigation by the KFTC of multinational corporations under Korean antitrust law.

Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Joo was a senior foreign attorney at Bae, Kim & Lee LLC. Mr. Joo also previously worked at Clifford Chance LLP’s Seoul office, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP’s Seoul and Hong Kong offices and Linklaters’ New York office.

Mr. Joo received a J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2009, and his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2006. He is admitted to the New York bar, and is a member of the Korean bar as a foreign legal consultant.
