Bio

Young Min Lee is an attorney in Kim & Chang’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice and is also a member of the firm’s Corporate Governance & Shareholder Disputes, Private Equity and Real Estate Practices.

Mr. Lee has practiced in a wide range of areas in corporate and real estate law and has extensive experience in M&A, joint venture, foreign direct investment and real estate transactions. He also advises extensively on corporate governance and internal compliance matters; assists public and private companies, including their management teams, boards of directors, committees and other stakeholders, in developing, communicating and executing strategies and action plans for shareholder engagement and activism; and provides advice on a wide range of governance issues, including regulatory compliance and risk management, to strengthen shareholder relations and prepare for potential activism challenges before they arise.

He works closely with investment banks, PEFs, and corporations in various industries in connection with their M&A, restructuring and financing needs.

Prior to joining Kim & Chang in 2007, Mr. Lee worked as a Judge Advocate in the Republic of Korea Navy. In 2013, he was a visiting lawyer at Latham & Watkins LLP.

Mr. Lee co-authored the Korea chapter in the 8th (2014) and 9th (2015) editions of “The Mergers & Acquisitions Review.” Mr. Lee was recognized in the “40 Under 40 List” by Asian Legal Business (ALB), in a feature article in the September 2015 issue of ALB magazine.

Mr. Lee received his LL.B. from Seoul National University in 2002 and graduated from the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 2004. Mr. Lee received an LL.M. from UC Berkeley in 2013.

Mr. Lee is admitted to practice in Korea and is a member of the Korean and New York bars.
