On November 18, 2022, Kim & Chang and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (“Freshfields”) co-hosted a hybrid seminar as part of the Dubai Arbitration Week 2022.

Titled “Perspectives from the Middle East and East Asia,” the seminar focused on emerging trends in business practices and disputes between Middle Eastern and East Asian parties.

In particular, attorney Byung-Woo Im from our firm shared practical insights for East Asian investors with interests in the Middle East and vice-versa. Mr. Im also highlighted common challenges when doing projects involving parties from both regions, especially in settlement negotiation.

Additionally, foreign attorney Don Jeon from our firm introduced major construction projects carried out by South Korean contractors.  Mr. Jeon discussed future business trends between Middle East and East Asia based on the total value of Korean companies’ construction orders in MENA region.
