On December 16, 2020, Kim & Chang hosted the Overseas Construction webinar with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (“Freshfields”).  The webinar was also sponsored by International Contractors Association of Korea (ICAK) and Korea Engineering & Consulting Association (KENCA).

Kim & Chang’s Byung-Chol (B.C.) Yoon delivered the opening remarks of the webinar.  Then, attorneys from Freshfields together with Matthew J. Christensen, Daewoong Lee, Don Jeon and Hyunbok Lee, members of Kim & Chang’s construction disputes team, shared insights on how to navigate global projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Hyunbok Lee discussed the Saudi Tender and Procurement Law of 2019, and Mr. Daewoong Lee provided useful tips on contract management in the COVID-19 environment in relation to Sharia law.  Mr. Jeon discussed dispute resolution and enforcement of awards in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Christensen discussed how to resolve disputes with the state and state-owned entities.
