Bio

Seong-Su Kim is an attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in finance. Since joining Kim & Chang in 2006, Mr. Kim has been advising financial companies on a wide range of issues including regulatory issues on new products and financial regulations. Mr. Kim has also represented financial companies in legal disputes such as derivatives products and recovery of non-performing assets overseas. Recently, he has been focusing on advising credit specialized financial companies (such as auto lease companies and credit card companies), fintech companies and savings banks.

In addition to his professional experience in Korea, Mr. Kim served as a lecturing fellow at Duke University School of Law in 2012. He has also authored publications, including the Director’s Duties in Hostile Takeovers (2006). Mr. Kim earned his LL.B. from the College of Law at Seoul National University and his LL.M. from the Graduate School of Law at Seoul National University and from Duke University School of Law. He is admitted to the Korea bar and the New York bar.
