On August 17, 2021, Kim & Chang and Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (“KCAB”) co-hosted the 18th webinar of KCAB INTERNATIONAL & Friends Webinar Series.
In the webinar titled “Navigating M&A disputes” which showcased the expertise of Kim & Chang’s International Arbitration & Cross-border Litigation Practice members, Una Cho and Seokchun Yun acted as the moderators with Matthew Christensen, Sup Joon Byun, Hye Sung Kim and Harold Noh participating as the presenters.
Mr. Christensen discussed “How Post-M&A Disputes Are Born: Some Typical Origins” and Mr. Byun introduced “Dispute in Operation: Real-Life Examples.” Mr. Noh, for the third session, discussed “Winning a Post-M&A Dispute: Strategic Considerations” and Ms. Kim shared practical tips on “How to Best to Prepare Your Contract” for the last session.
Topics on the origins of M&A disputes, types of claims, legal issues that needs to be noted in practice during disputes and matters that need to be addressed to prevent further disputes were discussed at length. The webinar was well attended and well received with many of the audience members staying on to ask various questions during the Q&A session at the end of the webinar.
