Synopsys’s acquisition of Ansys won the “Merger Control Matter of the Year for the Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa” at this year’s GCR Awards. Kim & Chang was recognized for successfully advising Synopsys in obtaining conditional clearance from the Korea Fair Trade Commission.

The Global Competition Review (“GCR”), a leading antitrust and competition law journal and news service, recognizes outstanding firms, government agencies and individuals for their work in the competition law arena. Recipients of the award are nominated and voted by the GCR’s readership. This year’s results were announced online on March 25, 2026.
