Brian Tae-Hyun Chung is a foreign attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in antitrust and competition and broadcasting & telecommunication. He has extensive experience in advising clients in the telecommunication, media and technology industries, as well as the tobacco, chemical and retail distribution industries.

As a member of the firm’s Antitrust & Competition Practice, Mr. Chung advises clients on all aspects of the competition law issues arising from their daily operation, investigations by the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) into violations of the competition law, and global merger filings for inbound and outbound M&A transactions. Mr. Chung also counsels foreign clients in complex competition law litigations, especially those involving advanced technology issues and software, telecommunications and broadcasting companies.

In addition, as a member of the firm’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice, Mr. Chung represents a broad range of companies in the IT, telecommunications and media sectors, advising them on telecommunication and broadcasting regulations, licensing, M&A and establishment of new business operations in Korea. Mr. Chung also counsels clients in privacy and data protection law, specializing in compliance with the Korean privacy laws and advising clients in various administrative, criminal and civil proceedings arising out of data breach cases.

Mr. Chung has co-authored various publications, including Getting the Deal Through Corporate Governance 2009: Korea Section, The International Comparative Legal Guide To: Competition Litigation 2009: Korea Section, Korea Review, Asialaw (Volume 2, Issue 1, April 2008), Amended Guidelines Create Safe Harbor for Merger Control, and The International Comparative Legal Guide To: Telecommunication Laws and Regulations 2008: Korea Section.

Mr. Chung received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1996 and his B.A. in physics from Cornell University in 1993. He is admitted to the New York bar.

Brian Tae-Hyun Chung is a foreign attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in antitrust and competition and broadcasting & telecommunication. He has extensive experience in advising clients in the telecommunication, media and technology industries, as well as the tobacco, chemical and retail distribution industries.
