Seyon Baek, an attorney at Kim & Chang’s Financial Regulation & Compliance Practice, provides legal advice in the areas of insurance, financial regulation and compliance. She has been advising insurance companies, banks, non-bank financial institutions, asset management companies, etc., in and out of Korea, with extensive work experience in audits and investigations of financial institutions, M&As and licenses/permits of financial institutions, etc.

Ms. Baek, when working for the Financial Supervisory Service, performed duties related to licenses and permits of financial institutions, eligibility review for major shareholders, and review of finance-related laws and regulations at the Insurance Supervision Department, the Dispute Mediation Department and the Savings Bank Supervision Department. Ms. Baek also worked for Shin & Kim, where she advised a number of insurance companies, banks, financial holding companies and non-bank financial institutions in the areas of governance and internal control, licenses and permits for new businesses, product launch and response to supervisory authorities’ audits and sanctions.
