Sangwook Kang is an attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices in the areas of competition, administrative litigation, civil & criminal law, and family, trusts & estates litigation.

Mr. Kang passed the 34th Korean judicial examination in 1992 and graduated from Seoul National University College of Law in 1992. He studied American Law at the College of William & Marry from 2004 to 2005. In 2016, he graduated from the Moon Soul Graduate School of Future Strategy of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) with a Master of Science in Engineering (Intellectual Property).

Before joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Kang served in the judiciary for 23 years, first as a judge advocate for the Air Force of the Republic of Korea and later as a judge of the Seoul High Court. He also served as a judge in the Uijeongbu, Jeju, Suwon, and Chungju District Courts as well as a research judge in the Supreme Court. In 2006 and 2010, he dealt with criminal cases.

In 2007, he handled competition and administrative cases in the Seoul High Court. From 2008 to 2009, he continued to research competition and administrative cases in the Supreme Court for two years. Then, from 2012 to 2014, he worked with competition and administrative cases in the Seoul High Court for three years. From 2015 to 2017, he dealt with civil cases and family, trusts & estates litigation in the Seoul High Court for three years. He also took training sessions for competition law at Fordham Law School (2009) and Melbourne Law School (2017).

He has presented papers on competition and administrative law at various conferences and law schools and has given lectures on competition law at several law schools and the Seoul Bar Association. He has also attended international conferences on competition law held in San Francisco (2008), Paris (2010), Beijing (2012), Busan (2015) and Delhi (2017).

He has written many legal papers such as "The Presumption of Illegal Concerted Act," "The Proof of Tacit Agreement and the Degree of Proof," "Unreasonably Interfering with the Business Activities of Other Business Operators as an Abuse of Dominant Market Position," and "The Prohibited Activities of Enterprisers' Organization."
