Joon-Young Kim is a senior attorney at Kim & Chang. His practice focuses on fintech, metaverse, blockchain & digital assets, e-business, TMT, insurance, mergers & acquisitions, non-bank financial companies, corporate governance and foreign direct investment.

Mr. Kim “spearheads Kim & Chang’s E-Finance & FinTech team, and advises extensively on legal issues relating to the latest technological innovations, such as blockchain technology, cryptocurrency and cloud computing,” as noted by Asian Legal Business.

Mr. Kim also regularly advises financial industry clients and e-business industry clients on regulatory, governance, and corporate law-related matters. He has also successfully advised clients in disputes and in litigation, as well as in responding to inquiries or investigations from government and regulatory authorities.
Mr. Kim has been actively involved in publishing on various Korean and international journals and conducting lectures related to blockchain technology, digital assets, e-finance & fintech, insurance, internet bank and corporate governance.

He graduated from the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 2007. He is admitted to the Korea bar and New York bar.
