Jeong-il (J.I.) Park is a tax attorney/CPA at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in the areas of finance tax and insurance tax.

Mr. Park has over 22 years of experience in advising many foreign and domestic clients on a wide range of finance and corporate tax issues. A key focus of his practice has been advising clients in the financial and insurance industries on tax matters including but not limited to business restructuring, merger and acquisition, securities issuance and finance and insurance product development.

Mr. Park's representative work in recent years includes providing tax advice to clients on infrastructure funds and their project companies, cross-border structured financing, subsidiarization of foreign financial institution’s branch and outbound investment using domestic and offshore investment vehicles. In addition, he has provided comprehensive tax advice in connection with tax audits, tax appeals & litigations and tax law changes.

Prior to Kim & Chang, Mr. Park worked at Samil PwC in external audits and consulting for domestic and foreign clients.

Mr. Park has lectured on tax aspects of cross-border structured financing including Asset Backed Securities in Hankyung Academy.

Mr. Park received his B.S. from the College of Business Administration at Seoul National University in 1991 and his M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business Administration at Seoul National University in 1994. He also completed the International Tax Program at Harvard Law School in 2003. He is a certified public accountant in Korea.
