Hakjoon Kim is an attorney in Kim & Chang’s Criminal Defense Litigation, Labor & Employment, and Banking, Securities & Finance Litigation. His primary practice areas also include shipping and shipbuilding. 

Before joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Kim served in the Korean judiciary for 17 years, first as a judge in district courts and later as a presiding judge in district courts and a research presiding judge at the Supreme Court of Korea. During his tenure as a judge, he gained extensive experience in a wide range of matters in civil, criminal, administrative and labor litigation. 

Mr. Kim also served as Secretary to the President for Civil Petitions at the Office of the President from 2014 to 2015.
