Hyo Jin Bae is a foreign attorney at Kim & Chang, specializing in the Labor & Employment Practice and ESG Practice. Ms. Bae provides comprehensive counsel to multinational corporations on a broad range of employment and labor issues, including employment agreements, HR policies and procedures, workforce restructuring, labor relations, employment-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions, discrimination and harassment issues, and dispute resolution.

In her ESG Practice, Ms. Bae advises Korean multinational corporations on ESG issues, with a particular focus on human rights and supply chain sustainability. Her work includes reviewing contracts, policies, and codes of conduct to ensure alignment with global regulatory frameworks and best practices. She also provides counsel on establishing due diligence processes and developing robust risk management systems to address emerging ESG compliance challenges.

Prior to joining Kim & Chang in 2022, Ms. Bae spent more than a decade at the United Nations in New York, where she provided advice on employment and internal compliance matters, conducted internal investigations, and managed complex procurement projects. Ms. Bae also practiced at law firms in the United States, advising clients on diverse employment law issues, and providing assistance in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and administrative proceedings.

Ms. Bae received her B.A. in Business Administration and Western History from Seoul National University in 2005, and her J.D. from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School in 2008. She is admitted to the Virginia bar and the District of Columbia bar.
