Haemi Yi is an attorney at Kim & Chang. She practices primarily in the areas of corporate and white-collar crimes, corporate governance and management disputes, anti-corruption and compliance management, and overseas legal affairs. 

Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Ms. Yi served as a prosecutor for 12 years and engaged in investigations of extensive specialized areas such as corporate crime and environmental crime at the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office, the Daejeon District Prosecutors’ Office, the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors’ Office, and the Gwangju District Prosecutors’ Office. 

In recognition of her contributions, she was awarded with a commendation from the Prosecutor General and was selected as an exemplary investigation prosecutor by the Korean Bar Association in 2021. 

Ms. Yi had worked in the Commercial Legal Division of the Ministry of Justice for three years since 2018 and was in charge of amending the Commercial Act, improving compliance system and corporate environment (EoDB), reviewing proposed amendments to laws by economic ministries. She was bestowed with the Certificate of Appreciation from the World Bank, a commendation from the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and a commendation from the Minister of Justice for her contribution to improving commercial legal system and international legal affairs in collaboration with foreign governments and international organizations such as OECD, UNCITRAL, and World Bank.
