Young-Shin Kwon is a tax attorney/CPA at Kim & Chang’s Finance Tax Practice.
Mr. Kwon has profound experience in providing tax advisory services related to banking, securities and asset management matters, especially for foreign financial institutions.
Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Kwon worked at Deutsche Bank as an in-house tax counsel for 13 years. At Deutsche Bank’s Hong Kong branch, Mr. Kwon was responsible for handling tax issues of multiple countries and business tax issues for corporate finance businesses throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Before he was at the Hong Kong branch, Mr. Kwon worked at Deutsche Securities Korea Co. for five years, managing Korean tax issues in relation to Deutsche Bank Group’s investment banking and asset management operations, with a focus on corporate income tax, transactional tax and transfer pricing.
Before Deutsche Bank, Mr. Kwon spent eight years at KPMG Korea, providing tax compliance, tax advisory, tax audit assistance and transfer pricing services to domestic and overseas clients, particularly to those in the banking and finance industry.
Mr. Kwon received a master’s degree in asset management from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management in 2009, and his B.A. from College of Commerce and Economics, Yonsei University in 2000. He passed the US CPA exam (Hawaii) in 2004, and CFA Level III exam in 2014. Mr. Kwon is a tax attorney/certified public accountant in Korea.
