Bio

Won-Tak Choi is an attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in corporate/M&A group and provides legal advisory services on M&A investments taking place and IP license between Chinese companies and Korean companies, litigation·arbitration. 

Prior to joining Kim & Chang in 2012, Mr. Choi established a law firm authorized by China’s Ministry of Justice, which is the first of its kind in China as a Korean law firm. As the chief representative of the firm, he advised Korean companies expanding into China with respect to the laws of China and other practical matters (M&A,FDI) for 9 years. 

In addition, Mr. Choi has served as a legal counsel of several public agencies such as Consulate General of Shanghai in the Republic of Korea, KOTRA China Head Office, Korea International Trade Association China Center and the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai and has broad experience and know-how in advising Korean conglomerates and small and middle size enterprises entering into China market. Furthermore, He also worked as a co-professor of Shanghai Jiaotong University Law School from 2010 to 2013. 

After joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Choi has been in charge of assisting Chinese companies with their investments in Korea as well as Korean companies with their investments in China, as well as, M&A and IP license between Chinese companies and Korean Companies, litigation·arbitration in China as well as litigation·arbitration, etc. of Chinese companies in Korea.
