As a member of Kim & Chang’s Intellectual Property Practice, Si Yul Lee has a work scope that ranges from intellectual property rights litigation to transactional work. In his litigation practice, Mr. Lee plans litigation strategy and advocates before courts on patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret infringement cases, representing many foreign companies. 

Many patent infringement actions among the same parties take place simultaneously in multiple jurisdictions across the globe. Mr. Lee has extensive experiences in coordinating such worldwide litigations and communicating with attorneys in other jurisdictions. His transactional work includes drafting and negotiating technology and trademark license agreements. 

Mr. Lee served as a judge in the Seoul Central District Court before joining Kim & Chang. While at the firm, he was seconded to several American and Japanese law firms to learn and handle the needs and requests of foreign clients. 

Mr. Lee obtained his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in the field of physics before he entered law school.
