Dae Kwon Yang is an attorney at Kim & Chang who specializes in litigation, antitrust and competition litigation, administrative and public law litigation, and administrative relief. He practices primarily in the areas of civil, administrative and criminal litigation.

Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Yang served in the Korean judiciary for 13 years as a judge in district and high courts, bringing with him a wealth of civil, administrative and criminal litigation experience. In particular, Mr. Yang was exclusively responsible for presiding over cases related to fair trade while serving as a judge at the Seoul High Court. 

Since joining Kim & Chang in 2013, Mr. Yang employs his court experience to advise and represent various kinds of antitrust and competition cases, such as alleged abuse of market dominance, unfair collusive acts and unfair trade practices that may arise in the course of managing companies.

  • Represented a domestic home shopping company in its appeal of the KFTC's decision to impose sanctions for alleged violation of the Fairness in Large-Scale Distribution Transactions Act and abuse of superior bargaining position. 
  • Appealed seeking annulment/reversal of administrative sanctions imposed by the KFTC against alleged violations of cartel regulation by car shipping companies. 
  • Appealed against the KFTC's disposition which was based on a claim that commercial sale advertisements were false or exaggerated. 
  • Represented a screen golf simulator company in an administrative litigation case regarding the KFTC’s corrective order and imposition of an administrative fine and an investigation held by the Prosecutors’ Office due to alleged unfair transactions (i.e., product bundling and abuse of trade position).
