Bio

Jiyeon Song is an attorney at Kim & Chang. She practices in a wide range of corporate areas with a focus on antitrust & competition and international trade. She has extensive experience in advising multinational pharmaceutical, medical device, food, cosmetics and tobacco companies as well as global fashion companies. 

Since 2011, Ms. Song has represented multinational companies in their high profile competition cases in Korea, including Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC)’s investigations and appeal of the KFTC’s decisions before the Korean courts. She advises clients on a comprehensive range of antitrust issues, such as abuse of market dominance, merger controls, cartel, unfair trade practices and labeling and advertising. 

Ms. Song has also successfully represented the Korean government in WTO disputes and defended Korean conglomerates at all stages of trade remedy investigations conducted by foreign governments, including that of the U.S. 

Ms. Song was awarded "Asia Women in Business Law Awards (International Trade Lawyer of the Year)" by Euromoney in 2022 and “Client Choice Award - Competition” by Lexology in 2021 and was selected to participate in “Korea’s Emerging Female Trade Leaders Program” hosted by Asia Society Policy Institute.

Ms. Song received an LL.B. from Seoul National University in 2007 and graduated from the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 2011. She was admitted to the Korean bar.
