Byung-Woo Im, a member of Kim & Chang’s International Arbitration & Cross-Border Litigation Practice, participated in a seminar titled “The FIDIC Red Book: An International Clause-by-Clause Commentary,” which was held in Seoul on November 9, 2023.

Along with Christopher Seppälä, one of the most renowned FIDIC experts who published the book that summarizes the experiences and lessons of the FIDIC and overseas construction projects spanning over 40 years, the seminar was held as part of the World Roadshow, inviting overseas construction experts from France, Japan and Dubai. It included informative panel discussions on how to use FIDIC in carrying out overseas projects and what to refer to when entering into future construction contracts.

In particular, Mr. Im reviewed past cases of FIDIC use and the current status of FIDIC use, and discussed future trends regarding construction contracts.
