On July 22, 2022, Chul-Won Lee of Kim & Chang’s International Arbitration & Cross-Border Litigation Practice spoke at a seminar hosted by the Korea Private International Law Association (KOPILA) and Judicial Policy Research Institute, an independent research organization under the Supreme Court of Korea.

At this seminar, the speakers, which included Mr. Lee, law professors and judicial officers, discussed key issues on the challenges of the international jurisdiction system in accordance with the enforcement of the new Private International Act.  In particular, Mr. Lee participated as a panel in the fifth session, “The International Jurisdiction of Maritime Claims under the new Private International Law – Review of In Rem Action under the English Law”.  Mr. Lee discussed how jurisdictional issues are determined in maritime disputes based on his extensive experience in maritime arbitration and litigation.
