On July 15, 2021, Kim & Chang and International Contractors Association of Korea (“ICAK”) hosted the first webinar of Overseas Construction Law Plaza 2021 series, which is also sponsored by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (the “MOLIT”).

In this lecture, followed by an opening remark from Kim & Chang’s Byung-Woo Im, Seong-Ik Oh of MOLIT delivered a welcome remark.  Then Daewoong Lee, Min-Young Oh, Bong-Sang Cho, Sangmyoung Shin and Hyunbok Lee from Kim & Chang presented on practical tips for Korean construction companies regarding wind farm projects. 

In particular, Min-Young Oh, Bong-Sang Cho and Sangmyoung Shin gave an overview of overseas construction and energy projects and discussed the current trend of wind farm projects using domestic and overseas examples.  Daewoong Lee and Hyunbok Lee spoke about legal issues when negotiating renewable energy projects and preparing technical disputes.

Kim & Chang’s International Construction & Project Team plans to continue inviting construction specialist attorneys and experts, and host lectures that provide practical information to Korean companies engaging in overseas projects.
