On July 20, 2021, Kim & Chang hosted a webinar titled “Serious Accidents Punishment Act – Details on Proposed Enforcement Decree of SAPA.” 

We presented this webinar to help businesses easily understand the contents of the proposed Enforcement Decree of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act (the “SAPA”) announced on July 12, 2021.  Featured speakers of the webinar included our firm’s Kyson Keebong Paek, Sung Min Won, Heon-Yup Lee and June Yong Lee (moderated by Kyle Kyungsun Choi). 

Following June Yong Lee’s recap of the SAPA, Sung Min Won and Heon-Yup Lee explained the safety and health measures that must be taken to prevent serious public accidents and serious industrial accidents under the proposed Enforcement Decree of the SAPA.  Thereafter, Kyson Keebong Paek discussed the expected risks of serious accidents from the perspective of criminal liability.
