On January 29, 2021, Kim & Chang hosted a webinar on key provisions of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act (the “SAPA”) and response measures. 

Organized to help businesses’ understanding of the newly enacted SAPA and to provide tips on practical response measures, the webinar featured speakers from the firm’s occupational safety and criminal defense experts including Sun Ha Kweon, Sung-Joo Kim and Yongjun Hong.

From a theoretical and practical perspective, Mr. Kweon, Mr. Kim and Mr. Hong provided in-depth analyses on subjects such as liability under the SAPA, obligations to secure safety and health measures, and potential liabilities associated with subcontracts.  They also shared examples of response measures that businesses can take, including specific safety and health measures that can be implemented in the workplace.
