On November 3, 2020, Kim & Chang hosted the third meeting of Women in Arbitration with Herbert Smith Freehills.  The webinar was held as part of the Seoul ADR Festival 2020 and sponsored by the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (“KCAB”).

Sungjean Seo, a member of Kim & Chang’s International Arbitration & Cross-Border Litigation Practice, interviewed Ms. Hilary Heilbron QC, an internationally renowned figure in the field of international arbitration.  The discussion covered a wide range of topics regarding arbitration in general, Ms. Heilbron’s personal experiences and insights, as well as ways to empower women in international arbitration.  Hye Sung Kim, also a member of Kim & Chang’s International Arbitration & Cross-Border Litigation Practice, participated as a panel member to discuss how next generation female arbitrators can successfully develop their careers.

The event was significant in that it also provided a space for announcing the launch of the newly organized KCAB Committee on Diversity & Inclusion.
