On November 4, 2020, Kim & Chang hosted a webinar on “Legal and Practical Issues on Valuation” with Berkeley Research Group (“BRG”).  The event was held as part of the Seoul ADR Festival 2020.

Byung-Chol (B.C.) Yoon and Una Cho, members of Kim & Chang’s International Arbitration & Cross-Border Litigation Practice, organized the event.  Mr. Yoon provided practical tips on how to successfully manage force majeure-related disputes relating to long-term commodity supply contracts in the wake of COVID-19.  Ms. Cho, as a moderator, interviewed Neil Kaplan CBE QC SBS and discussed notable changes involving virtual hearing in international arbitration.

In this webinar, leading figures across the arbitration spectrum, including Mr. Yoon and Ms. Cho, shared their experience as arbitrators and counsel.  Speakers with litigation funding, valuation and damage expert backgrounds also addressed the importance of damage valuation and how to resolve international disputes effectively.
