On November 5, 2020, Edern Coent, a member of Kim & Chang’s International Arbitration & Cross-Border Litigation Practice, conducted a webinar hosted by HK45, the young practitioners group existing under the auspices of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) for next generation arbitrators.

At this webinar titled “The Psychology of Virtual Arbitration,” the speakers, moderated by Mr. Coent, discussed how the human brain functions in the “new normal” brought by the COVID-19 pandemic and what it means for the future of arbitration.  Some of the discussion topics included emotional factors, Zoom fatigue, team dynamics and virtual examination.

The webinar was hosted as part of the Seoul ADR Festival held on November 2-7, 2020.
