On December 7, 2018, Je Heum Baik, a member of Kim & Chang’s Tax Practice, was invited to speak at the 13th Tax-Related Associations Academic Conference hosted by Korea Tax Research Forum.

Serving as a moderator of the conference’s discussion session, Mr. Baik led a lively discussion on the increase in the reflection rate of real estate transactions in the aggregate real property taxation standard.

One of the interesting discussions among the panelists involved the suggestion that increase in the reflection rate of real estate transactions in aggregate real property taxation standard is the first step to stabilizing real estate prices and regaining tax equality.
