On August 29, 2018, Seung Hwan Jin, a Kim & Chang tax attorney and CPA, was invited to speak at the Second Foreign Investment Caravan hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (“MOTIE”). 

Mr. Jin spoke on the “2018 Tax Law Revisions and Major Tax Issues,” including his analysis on the various tax issues that foreign investment companies may face.  He also participated in 1:1 sessions, during which he provided detailed consultation on tax strategies, reserves investment, other foreign investment company-related issues, as well as foreign investment incentives and tax adjustments.

MOTIE hosted its Second Foreign Investment Caravan at the Hotel ICC in Daejeon, in Chungcheong Province.  Foreign investment companies doing business in Daejeon and in other parts of the Chungcheong region were invited to participate in the seminar.  A major aim of the event was to create a forum in which to listen to the foreign companies’ take on the challenges they are facing, including labor shortage and delay of construction approval.
