2017.11.15

On November 15, 2017, Kim & Chang hosted the fourth session of the International Construction Lecture Series 2017 with Keating Chambers, a prominent barrister chamber.  The seminar was co-hosted by Kim & Chang and the International Contractors Association of Korea.

Simon Hughes QC, Peter Brogden, and Sarah Williams, construction dispute specialists from Keating Chambers, presented on “Some Core Principles of English Law for Major Construction and Offshore Project Claims.”  They discussed design obligations under the English law, suspension and termination of rights in construction contracts, as well as hands-on advice on the practicalities and logistics of preparing claims and arbitration disputes.

Byung-Woo Im and Kay-Jannes Wegner of Kim & Chang organized and moderated the event.  Two other attorneys, Sejong Youn and Bo-Ram Hong, helped to organize the event, including providing summarized interpretations to the attendees.

Kim & Chang’s International Construction & Project Team organizes this lecture series with construction law experts to share industry-focused and up-to-date information to Korean companies engaging in overseas projects by discussing key topics of interest with industry experts.  The next session in this series is scheduled for the beginning of 2018.
